Commonly used method for axial tightening of bearing rings-Feiyu Bearing

2020-06-22

(1) Retaining ring for hole

The outer ring of the bearing is installed in the bearing box. One end of the bearing is generally fixed by the shoulder on the box, and the other end is fastened with an end cap, a thread ring, and an elastic retaining ring. The size of the contact area of the shoulder and the axial fastening part on the bearing box and the bearing ring can be determined according to the installation dimensions of the various bearings listed in the sample bearing size table.

Used for all types of radial bearings and radial thrust bearings, used in the case of high bearing speed and large axial load. The end cover is fastened with screws to compress the outer ring of the bearing, and the end cover can also be sealed with a curved path.

This fastening method occupies a small axial position, is easy to install and disassemble, and is simple to manufacture. It is used to withstand small axial loads. An adjustment ring is added between the bearing and the spring to facilitate adjustment of the axial position.

(2) Thread ring fastening

Single row deep groove ball bearing with stop groove on the outer ring of the bearing, fastened with a stop ring. This type of bearing is used when the stop flange cannot be machined in the bearing box due to conditions or the outline size of the component must be reduced.

(3) Stop ring fastening

Used in the case where the bearing speed is high and the axial load is large, which is not suitable for the use of end caps for fastening. When fastening a radial thrust bearing with a threaded ring, the axial clearance of the bearing can be adjusted.

(4) End cap fastening

    Bearing inner ring tightening

In a special case, when the shaft shoulder and fillet dimensions do not meet the installation dimensions listed in the catalog, you can use a transition ring for axial support.

(5) Tightening of tapered bore bearings

When the axial load is not large, the bearing speed is not high, and it is difficult to make the thread on the journal, it can be fastened with a circlip with a rectangular cross section. This fastening method is convenient for assembly and disassembly, occupies a small area, and has a low cost.

(6) End thrust washer tightening

Tapered bore bearings are installed on tapered journals as appropriate. The axial load must always be tight against the shaft and bearings. If the bearing is not installed at the end of the shaft, and the thread is not allowed on the shaft, in this case, the two combined halves of the thread ring can be caught in the groove of the shaft, and then use the nut to tighten the bearing. During installation, the taper of the inner hole is directional. If the bearing is located at the shaft end and the thread is allowed at the shaft end, it can be directly tightened with a nut.

For double-row radial spherical bearings with low rotation speed and bearing a steady radial load and a small axial load, they can be installed on the optical axis with a tapered adapter sleeve; the adapter sleeve is fastened with a nut and a stop washer. The nut locks the adapter sleeve to tighten the bearing.

(7) Fasten with adapter sleeve

When the inner ring of the bearing is installed on the shaft, the bearing position is generally fixed on one side by the shoulder; the other side is fastened with a nut, a stop washer and a spring ring. The size of the contact part of the shaft shoulder and the axial fastening part and the bearing ring can be determined according to the installation dimensions of the various bearings listed in the basic bearing size table.

It is difficult to turn the thread on the journal. When the bearing speed is high and the axial load is large, the washer is fastened with two screws at the shaft end, and the lock washer or wire is used to prevent loosening.

(8) Tightening of non-standard shoulders and rounded corners

(9) The shaft is fastened with an elastic ring

(10) For high bearing speeds and high axial loads, the end face of the nut that contacts the bearing ring must rotate with the shaft

The axis of rotation is vertical, otherwise tightening the nut will destroy the correct installation position of the bearing, reduce the rotation accuracy and service life of the bearing, especially when the fit between the bore of the bearing and the shaft is loose, it must be strictly controlled. In order to prevent the nut from loosening during rotation, appropriate anti-loosening measures should be taken. The grooved nut and stop washer are used to tighten the bearing to prevent the nut from loosening. When tightening, the internal teeth of the washer should be placed in the keyway of the shaft, and then any external teeth should be bent into the groove of the nut.
